BSF-Sharing day-05-12-2011

This is my third year of BSF

The first year we studied the books about Moses, which helped me understand the standard of God.

The second year we studied the book of John, which is like a love story.  Every week I went to BSF seemed like a date with Jesus.

This year we studied the book of Isaiah, which is like studying literature.

God’s blessings are always double portion. On one hand His words are really beautiful; on the other hand His words are like a sword which pierces in people’s heart.  That becomes our strength and helps us as we need it.

After the study of this year, here are some verses flowing in my heart.

My sharing about the book of Isaiah

The Lord, He sovereigns.

He writes His story.
 He writes history.

The Lord, He delivers.

He has sent His son Jesus to bind up the broken hearted,

To proclaim freedom for the captures 

And release from darkness for prisoners.

The Lord, He redeems

He buys us back and gives us new name.

No longer will they call us deserted or our  land desolate

But we will be called delight and our land married.

The Lord, He is love.

He was appalled that no one gave support,

So His own arm works salvation for Him.

He so loved the word that

He gave His one and only son

That whoever believes in him shall not perish,

But have eternal life

BSF Lesson 27- 4/2011 God's reward-58:8-12

" God promised blessings that would follow life-changing, obedient love for Him."
"The Lord will guide you always: he will satisfy your needs in a such-scorched land and will strengthen your frame." (Isaiah 58:10-11)
"God's supply will no be just external, but it will inwardly strength their "frame", giving the gift of endurance.
Our mind will be transformed by studying God's word.
Our value and visions will be changed even if the situation is the same .
God does not promise that we will not have times of hardship,
 but He says He is always with us and will help us for fulfilling His perfect will of  each of us.
His help and blessing do not only come  from outside, but also flow  from inside our heart.

True Fasting-Isaiah 58

"They seem eager to know my way."
"They seem eager for God to come near them"
"Why have we fasted, they say, and you have not seen it?
Why have we humbled ourselves, and yo have not noticed?" (Isaiah 58:2)
The Israel tried to please God through religious rituals and pray for God to satisfy their own sinful desires.
However, what does God think about all these religious rituals?
True fasting
"Is not this kind of fasting i have chosen to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?" (Isaiah 58:6)
"Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wander with shelter-when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?"(Isaiah 58:7)

God looks our heart , not the religious ritual.
God always enables us to do what He want us to do.
True fasting means to show mercy to the needed from the bottom from our heart..
To share your food with the hungry. It's not hard ! Since you are fasting, share the meal that you are fasting with the hungry. God always enables us to what He asks us to do!

History-He writes His story

這一年我在BSF study Isaiah. Recently, we discussed a lot that God sovereigns. He controls history. I just came back from Taiwan and feels kind of dizzy. 但不知怎麽
“詩興”大發 Here is the poem suddenly came out from my mind when I studied Isaiah

In His love, In His love
Who is He?
He is the one who writes His story
He writes history

It's well with my soul-我心靈得安寧

在一次的姐妹聚會中， 有一位姐妹提到了這位成功又愛主的企業家，
想起了我也曾看過他所接受真情部落格的專訪。其中最令我感動的是，他提到了他如何請到了世界三大男高音來唱這首聖歌“我心靈得安寧”，他特別提到了這首歌的作者Spafford,的故事, 他所有的財富因著芝加哥大地震， 一夕之間付諸一炬，在此同時接到了他的三個女兒在一場船難中全部喪生。當他到船難現場哀悼他的女兒時，神親自安慰了他,於是這首詩歌-“It'swell  with my soul"就誕生了，這首歌並且成爲千千萬萬人的祝福與安慰。

Spafford,的故事， 深深地感動了我。 也勾起了我的好奇心，這首歌“我心靈得安寧”到底如何唱，於是去google了一下，原來他的原名就是“It'swell  with my soul"。 更奇妙的是，在那一周我在BSF的司琴就是這首歌。我們的神真的好奇妙，神說：”我所賜的平安是出人意外的平安，且是世界所不能奪的“ 我很羡慕這樣的平安，神再次地鼓勵了我。

我們的神真好，在我的生日即將到來之時，明天的BSF，surprisingly, 我們要再次的唱這首歌
“It'swell  with my soul"。

Freely Freely-BSF-2-16-2011

Freely Freely

Some people say that they would lose a lot freedom if they become a Christian. Therefore, they do not want to be Christians. However, the bible says:

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” (Galatians 5:1)

I enjoy being with people, but, I am also influenced by peer pressure a lot.

Since becoming a Christian, I only need to think about whether God is pleased by my actions or not.

This really sets me free.

BSF Lesson 28 4/21/2010

Concerning about things that last forever (spirit), all materials fade away (physical).

The things last forever: our sprit, God’s word.

Our thought and emotion influence our spirit.

Watch out and be careful about what we think in our heart and mind.

God teach us to think about the things which are righteousness, goodness, kindness, loveliness, and truthfulness. That will help our spirit to be like Holy Spirit more and more and will go into our eternal life.

Oppositely, the negative thought like bitterness, jealousy, haste and so on won’t fade away automatically if we do not handle it properly. These negative thought will dull and destroy our spirit and make our spirit far away from Holy Spirit more and more.
