我是小小種子，你從不知我，因我從不出聲躲在泥土裏。
但是只要一點點的水，一點點的陽光，
我仍忍不住好奇想擡頭望一望，看一看泥土之外美麗的世界。

小小種子飛啊飛，盡情遨遊於美麗新世界，
哦！但一不小心，掉進了汪汪大海，洪水汎濫了。
沒關係，耶穌掌權。
小小種子,要的並不多，只要一點點的陽光與水就夠了。
但有時候，太陽太熱情了，雨水太多了，洪水汎濫了，
小小種子快熱死了，淹死了。
沒關係，耶穌掌權。

作者：史約瑟(Joseph Scriven 1819-1886)
人們從不知他會寫詩，作者在他的母親重病期間，卻又無法前往探視母親，在他痛苦憂傷的時候，神賜下了寫了這首詩給作者，不但安慰了他本人，也安慰了他的母親， 更是安慰了所有聽到這首歌的人。
